Chateau Morrisette Winery
In 1977, William and Nancy Morrisette planted the first vines, unheard of at the time, Chateau Morrisette was one of the three wineries started in Virginia prior to 1980, making it one of the oldest wineries in the state. David Morrisette became Château Morrisette's first official winemaker. In 1982, the first commercial wines were produced, beginning with approximately 650 cases. The Winery has underdone numerous expansions, including in 1999 a beautiful, environmentally conscisous new wine production facility/hospitality center. Using 100% salvaged timber to create the largest salvaged timber-frame building in North, Central and South America. Chateau Morrisette is proud to be a 3rd generation, family owned and operated. Current production of 50,000 cases annually is dedicated to quality Virginia wines for all types of palettes.
